Glossary of Eploy CMS Features and Fields

This glossary outlines each feature and field within the Eploy CMS.

 

Dashboard

All systems come with a dashboard that tracks activity within the CMS. It displays the latest changes to entries on the right and any comment activity on the left.

 

Entries / Entry

An entry is a type of content that has been added to the CMS. Entries can be listed by publish status, title, workflow stage, or content type. When created, entries do not automatically appear on your website—they must be added to the appropriate page type to become visible.

 

All Entry Types

  • Page: Article
    Allows you to create a text-based article, including an image to engage readers. These can only be added to the appropriate page.

  • Page: Article Listing
    Enables you to list all created articles within a page on the website. From a customer perspective, only the title can be created here.

  • Page: Content
    A component that allows you to create expanded written content to be displayed on your website. This differs from simply adding text into a page.

  • Page: Home
    Allows the creation of a new home page, although the default version designed on Imp will remain unless an admin is requested to replace it.

  • Page: Landing
    Functions similarly to the home page but is typically used for other pages within your system. This entry type can also be used within components to allow users to create linked buttons to these pages.

  • Data: Banner
    A static banner that can be used alongside additional features such as vacancy searches or navigation buttons.

  • Data: External Link
    An entry type that allows you to add a link to any external website.

  • Data: Testimonial
    Creates testimonial entries that remain in your CMS until added to the appropriate component or content section.

  • Data: Video Embed
    Allows you to embed videos on your website using YouTube URLs.

CMS Input Fields

  • Title
    The main heading for a page, entry, component, or piece of content.

  • Images
    Allows you to upload a new image or use a pre-existing one from your CMS. The recommended resolution is 1920px x 416px.

  • Page Intro
    A free-text field displayed below the title.

  • Text / Content
    A standard free-text field for adding content.

  • URL
    A free-text field meant specifically for website URLs. These will be linked to navigation buttons to direct users to a new page.

  • Testimonial / Testimonial Extended
    Free-text fields specific to testimonial entries. Use these to add main and additional testimonial content.

  • Name
    A field specific to testimonials where a person's name should be entered.

  • Role
    A testimonial-specific field used for entering a person’s job title, role, or organisation.

  • Industry / Function / Position / Location ID
    These relate to unique ID numbers associated with each option type within your Eploy system. Your system may not use all of these, or they may be renamed.

  • Caption
    Allows text to be added above or below an image or video to describe the content.

  • YouTube URL
    A free-text field that enables embedding of YouTube videos on your web pages.

  • Date
    A free-text field for entering a date. Use the format dd/mm/yyyy.

  • Category
    Allows you to select the category under which an article should be listed.
