A Cookie is used to track and analyse data & activity on your website and are split into different types (not chocolate chip though!). Your privacy policy should have more information on which specific cookies are used on your careers site and candidate portal, so this article will focus on the different types of cookies used and how candidates can opt in or out as required.
Managing Cookies
When candidates first visit your careers site, they should be presented with a cookie policy and have the option to opt in or choose to manage their preferences in more details.
Hint - Cant see your own cookie banner? Contact Eploy Success to discuss getting your cookie policies in place.
If clicking Accept Cookies Policy, the candidate will be opted in to all of the embedded cookies and then can continue making full use of the website, including viewing any video content, applying for roles and signing up for job alerts.
However, if they choose to Customise Settings, they can learn more about the different types of cookies used on the site and why they are in place.
Customise Settings
Within Customise Settings, the candidate will see the different types of cookies used and be able to opt in / out accordingly:
- Necessary Cookies - These are essential cookies for the website to function and can include security features and accessibility tools. The candidate wont be able to opt out of these cookies as they are used to keep the website safe & secure.
- Functional Cookies - These are optional for the candidate but are recommended as they are used to power different features of the website. This can include dynamic content & media used throughout.
- Performance and Analytics Cookies - These cookies are used for tracking activity and monitoring website performance, which are then used to enhance the user experience. These can include things like Google Analytics or ClickIQ.
All the candidate needs to do is use the toggles to opt in our out, before clicking Save Preferences to confirm.
Cookie Policy
In the footer of the careers site, you will find an option for Cookie Preferences and Cookie Policy, which means your candidates can manage their settings at any time. Within the Cookie Policy, candidates can find out more information on each of the specific cookies used, with additional details included for any First Party Cookies.
